    Crazy Doorbell

Our doorbell has been malfunctioning lately. DH found a spider nest snuggled in behind the button outside. So he decides to check the indoor chimes too. Function we did not realize it had, if the cover is not on properly, when the outside button is pushed it says "Close the cover". Now that's all it does.

Archie always barked at the chimes but now he goes crazy over an unknown voice in the room.

Time to get a new system.

We disengaged ours when we realized that it was prompting Charlie's asthma attacks...never re-wired it and actually took it down when the hallway got repainted. I magic-markered "no" on the outside button...guess I'll ask Bob to take it off one of these days.

I think the strange voice on yours would shock me, too.

Archie is a good protector! Sierra would act like she didn't even hear it.

I'm not sure mine would react to the voice. My mother's home security system does a lot of announcing, too much for me. I'd have to ditch that doorbell, too.

Maybe Archie will get used to it. When we put in new phones that audibly announce who is calling Oban barked at it but he got used to it.

Not sure I will get used to it. Maybe I should program it to say "Put down the toilet lid".

I loathe doorbells. Call me. If I answer, I'm home and I'm dressed. If not, who knows but I probably don't want to be bothered. Besides, my dogs already let me know you're there.

I hate doorbells and phones. They both produce harsh unnatural sounds that is not soothing to the ear. They should both be programed with nice 'BARK' or 'WOLFIE' sounds.
