Hope We Didn't Just Do Something REALLY STUPID

A young man came to the door, could he use our phone to call a taxi, he was locked out of his parents house and needed to get to the bus station in town to go home to his own place in another city. OH was going to go in shopping this afternoon anyway so he took him in, they just left.

And no sooner did they get out the driveway than I began to wonder, if his mother is so and so and lives on such and such a street, he had to come all the way to our house to ask to use the phone? No one was home between her house and ours? And I don't know who she is. And was he about to call a taxi anyway? And don't his parents have any friends in our village he could have gone to? And, and, and ......

Gulp, OH is even taking him to the bank on the way as he needs money. Gulp.

OH is home safe and sound and without the items he meant to get as he forgot his wallet and his cell phone, so I couldn't have called him anyway. I didn't want to call him for fear the abductor was with him. Well, that's what I was thinking. Darn TV, darn newspapers.

OH is actually enthusing about what a nice kid Benn is, how smart, something of a geek he thinks, very bright kid. Not a kid, graduated from U of T already. But geeky seems to fit, who gets all their weekend gear ready to go, takes it outside, locks themself out, then finds their cell phone is out of money, all before they call a taxi? Oh, yeah, OH might do that. And I obviously didn't think of that before OH left with him.

Nervous time and scary. It's so sad that times have come to this.

I passed up a man walking through the neighborhood, well covered for the weather but still it is so cold (-20F wind chill). I just could not take the chance.
