This Dog Walker Will Probably Avoid Us From Now On LOL

For crying out loud, so embarassing. I have not had snow tires on my car for over 35 years and I never got stuck till just recently. Not only did I get stuck in snow twice in two weeks but it was in the same place and the same nice man helped push me out. It's at a dog walking place we frequent and I've parked in there many, many times but it occurs to me now that I don't have good Cooper Discovery tires on yet, just the crummy Good Years it came with. OH was with me for the walk this time so the nice, nice, incredibly nice man did not have to wait while I phoned OH to come help me. Yes, the nice man and his nice dog waited to help me. A lady did too, the first time.

I do want to get the new All Weather tires when it's time to replace, they are better than All Season but not quite as snow worthy as winter tires, though they do carry the snowflake on a mountain symbol. We think there is quite a bit of life left in the curren tires though maybe it's only non-wet snow life. IN the meantime If I see this man and his dog coming and they turn and go the other way I will understand. Sheesh.

Loved doing things with my Dad so vividly remember the yearly ritual of changing to snow tires and even putting on chains.

Isn't it nice to know you have someone to help rescue you, along with his dog.

Yes, putting on snow tires is a nuisance. Getting the timing right for on and off, weather wise, is impossible to predict. That would be an advantage of the All Weather tires, they'd be on all the time. But snow tires would out perform them in lots of snow.

That man was so nice. Funny thing is, I just met him this winter and he says he's been taking his 11 year old dog there every day for years.

I don't think I said this before but after he and the OH got me out the first time they, and the lady who stayed to make sure I was all right (oh gosh it just occurred to me that she didn't want to leave me with a strange man) they all stood around and talked. And they got to witness a real life nature show as a rabbit streaked in front of them with an ermine in hot pursuit. Neither the man nor the lady knew what ermine were so OH, great white trapper, let them in. That rabbit got away but the ermine went back by them after another. In all his years of hunting, trapping and fishing and being outdoors OH has never seen action like that. OH didn't get home till over 45 minutes after me, they all stood and watched and talked that long. I think they didn't mind my getting stuck since they seemed to have so much fun.

We live right at the border where the gulf stream edges in southern Massachusetts . I moved here with the wife from 70 miles north. Amazing how such a small changes tonnes of snow mostly rain now.

I'd say it's time for new tires, even if you just put all-seasons on. I finally replaced mine this fall, and what a difference driving in the snow we've had. Even with the all-wheel or into 4 wheel, these grip so much better,

And wait, and ermine? Running right in front of you? TWICE?? within a little bit of time? I'd be giving my head a shake, wondering if I was seeing things! That's incredible, how cool.

I've heard that you should keep some kitty litter in your car just in case.

I used to keep kitty litter in but this jeep is so heavy already I didn't add any bags. They did double duty for weight and grip but we have never used them for grip.
