    My husband was sentenced today.

Two more months in the brace and he can only bend his leg to 40 degrees when he's sitting or lying down. It must be completely straight when walking. No driving but he can take a shower.

Apparently, he smashed the lower half and very little could be salvaged so they had to attach the kneecap to the tendon to keep it in place. So much for a six week healing period. Poor guy.

THAT SUCKS! Ye are both in me thoughts and prayers. My wife Lisa was in similar circumstances from February through May last year.

About 3.5 months. She has a titanium plate and screws in her leg. She had a great orthopedic surgeon.

Yikes. So the whole experience is the better part of a year.

My husband has a tension band that stays in. He has a titanium rod in his other leg from when he annihilated his femur. We got lucky with the hospital. He was in Boston at the time which I originally thought was such a pain but I think it was for the best. Today was a seven hour day just for the follow up but I doubt that our local people would have done as good of a job.

Oh gosh...at least it sounds as if he's in good hands. He's got more than his fair share of needing to be super careful.

    Jane,
It seemed like 10 years, especially when I saw her going crazy with frustration just two days after her injury. Like your husband, she could not drive, we both know where that leads. The orthopedic surgeon we had had been a go to doctor for NFL players so ye know he is on top of his game. Every bit of advise he gave us was spot on.

Stay strong, you will get through it.
