My only grandbaby lives out of state so we don't see her as much as we'd like but they visited over Christmas and were here this weekend. She's just turned 21 months old and for a kiddo that age, has a pretty extensive vocabulary. The only problem is that you kind of have to know what she's saying to understand her. Clearly my dogs do not speak baby but she definitely shows that she will be the boss of them one day soon. When they crowded around her she would say in a rather commanding tone, "Chasey, down! Larky, down!" Just because it actually sounds more like "Jeezy, dow!" and "Dowwy, dow!" doesn't mean she isn't giving them commands. She also loves to give them treats and since I often tell them to Sit before getting their treat, she will tell them "Sit" when giving a treat, she just doesn't wait for them to actually sit. It is so cute to watch a <30 pound child bossing around these big dogs more than twice her size. Fortunately labs are so eager to please (and get treats) that they are willing participants. Chase and Lark are in for it now!

You must be having so much fun observing those interactions.

She sounds like a dog trainer in training.

Cassidy was like a parrot, anything I said to the dogs, she would immediately repeat. Was pretty cute.
