A quick little video from the puppy's point of view: Jackson: An IBM data story - YouTube
I may have teared up. A little. Okay, my keyboard got a bit of a bath. I can never hold it together when the raiser families give up the pup.

That is why God made dogs.
A young lady in my neighborhood raised a guide dog pup 2 years ago, and she was heart broke when he left when he was just over a year old. The dog did a great job with his training passed all his tests, but he kept having issues with conjunctivitis, to they put him out of the program. She had the right of first refusal on the dog, and he was ultimately placed with her aunt who had lost their senior Lab about a year ago.
I can tell you I'd be hard pressed to give up a puppy that I raised, I've thought about doing the puppy raiser thing, but I know it would be to tough to let them go.
It would be hard. Plus I would find it impossible not to have him running doubles and blinds on land and water by the time he was s'posed to go.

Ok, now my keyboard is a tad wet too. Bless puppy raisers. I could not let the pup go and I know DH would not either.

That as awesome! What a brilliant marketing approach too.
