    feeling accomplished

2 weeks ago my husband and I decided it was time to head back to the gym and start eating healthier. I need to lose weight not a whole lot but want to lose about 20 and tone. I tried the paleo diet which lasted a few weeks but it was expensive. I decided not to eliminate anything but more portion control so I weigh and measure everything.

Week 2 I've already lost almost 4 pounds I also am always surprised how good I feel and how much more energy I have.

Good for you! Think it's better to do it naturally by controlling portions. Wishing you all the success to your goal! Come on here when the urge gets overbearing, as we'll (my husband and I) throw in our support to help you to your goal. Or take a walk with Gauge, which will help squash that urge and plus help build that energy that you are finding you are getting now.

Congrats on your success. I am also on the path to better personal fitness and health. I love how I feel after exercising. I definitely know that the less I do, the less I want to do.

Good for you! I've found that portion control and watching what I'm eating does the job. Don't get discouraged if you hit a plateau and for a week or two there is no weight loss. You'll break through it. Also, remember, muscles weights more than fat so don't get discouraged if your weight goes up a little. Go by how you feel and how well your clothes are fitting.

I'm down almost another pound!!! If I can get to 170 my reward to myself is one of them little serving cups of ice cream. I'm a ice cream nut probably why I weigh what I do. Something to keep me motivated. I've been making smoothies for breakfast keeps me full longer and they are packed withe nutrients.

    Go Team Sheltie Lover!

I'm a recent convert to the green monster smoothie fad. A cup of ice cold water, a cup of frozen fruit, a spoonful of Greek yogurt, a little egg white protein, and a couple of handfuls of spinach= filling, healthy, and low cal. My favorite is mango (and I add a splash of orange juice, yum). The only problem is that my food processor is not used to daily workouts. I'm trying to convince DH we "need" a Vitamix. LOL.

    Congratulations! Smoothies are excellent!

Hoping you meet that goal so you can have a "special" treat! Big ice cream lover here too, thankfully, as that's what's keeping weight on me. Now I need to convince my husband as he's lost so much weight. Unfortunately we both did not lose weight the healthy way. Now just trying to get back to balance.

Congrats!!! Jake and I are doing the same thing! We are doing boxing classes, biking to and from the class, and reducing (not eliminating) carbs and upping our Veggies

And, as our Trainer Ryan says--Drink at least 2 liters of water a day.

Excellent advise. Also helps make you feel "full". My husband was always a big water drinker, so has passed that on to me. Had a bad habit with soda.
