What does the vet say?
My dog has a small Trachea that effects his breathing. He can't run very long before getting winded and having to lay down. I take him to the dog park a lot to at least socialize, but lately he just seems bored and unhappy (maybe it's the heat?). I'm not sure what to dooooooooooooooooo. How to I keep a dog happy who can't run. It sucks and I was wondering if anyone has experience with this.

Why don't you teach him to find stuff. and then turn the entire house into a scavenger hunt. It's great mental exercise and dogs seem to love it.
Find stuff like balls?
haha toys, treats, different scents. See if they have any nosework class in your area. They teach dogs to search for birch scents first and move on to more difficult ones.
Is this new or has he always been like this? I'd take him to the vet for a check up to make sure he's okay and ask for advice.
Sounds like he would benefit from a lot of mental stimulation games. Even putting his kibble in a toy that he has to figure out how to get it, or a frozen Kong with treats, food, peanut butter will help keep him occupied.
Spend some time with him teaching new tricks too.

i too, am curious about the diagnosis. how did they determine this issue?
Yeah, my vet did blood work, x-rays, and a scope. There was no surgery option that would help. I even went for a 2nd option.
How old is your dog? Is the age related or something he was born with?

Have heard of the opposite, mega esophagus. This is new to me. The idea of mental games, seek, is great. Nose work discerning different scents. How about a small baby pool, the hard sided kind, where your pup can play and rest as needed. Socialization can also include riding in the car, through the drive through. How about a "play" date with a very calm dog.
