You got to pay to play!!!!
We have had a lot of rain. Not as much as some areas with bad flooding and roads washed out but enough the mud puddles just don't dry up. It's hard to find a walk that doesn't have mud puddles and of course Oban greatly enjoys wallowing in them. And then he's muddy so I have to hose him off when we get home.
And then I ice his sore spots. An ice pack on his left elbow, another on his right bone spur and I hold ice on his bicep and tricep as shown at ortho rehab, for five minutes each. Well, wet dog plus ice and ice packs makes for frozen hairs stuck to said ice. It feels like I'm ripping them off him, like waxing. LOL. I don't see any hair being ripped out, but still, it must not be so pleasant for him. He doesn't complain though, guess he must really like those bits of cut up apple he gets when we do this. He's such a good boy.

A romp in the mud is probably worth it.
How about putting a paper towel between the ice pack and the fur? Or a thin piece of cloth?
