Aye Mates,
Grand to have great friends. We were out training retrievers yesterday morning and decided we needed to construct a new "swim by" pond to conduct swim by drills in. While we were setting out bird launchers and conducting multiple land marks for the retrievers, our good buddy Joe put his excavator to work in constructing a pond to the configurations we specified. Meanwhile, the dogs performed well on the marking drills we ran on land yesterday.
Setting up the "wingers" to run multiple marking drills on land. The heat and humidity had us keeping the dogs well hydrated and the session kept minimal in duration so as to not endanger the dogs with potential heat related injury.
Joe working on the new "swim-by" pond and using his heavy equipment operating skills to reconfigure and existent pond to meet our needs.
Our morning concentrated on working the dogs in multiple marks at varying distances commensurate with the skill levels of each individual retriever. We plan accordingly to set the individual dogs up for success and building confidence.
No need to add water - "Just Add Labradors"😁

How great to have Joe helping out with the heavy work. Love the title of the thread.
