Ava used to do the same thing when she finally understood she was not supposed to have the sock.
He knows he's not supposed to have our socks(remember the 1/2 sock he ate several months ago). He walks in circles and looks at us with that sheepish look! We ask What have you got? He plops the "treasure" on the ground! We don't make a game of this he just cant resist a good smelly sock!!!!

Excellent training. We've never have been able to get Luna to stop going for smelly socks. She would swallow it on the sly if she found one. We just have to be super vigilant and make sure there are none available.
Very cute!!!! Mine are allowed socks and shoes, so the house is decorated with then as mine live to carry things around alI the time.
