can my dog hear/sense the death of a fly?

everytime I pull out the fly swatter chili stands up and if I get the fly he moves away from and many times leaves the area...if I try to show him dead fly he turns away, wants nothing to do with it. just curious if any known science around this or just my quirky chili?

Ecclesiastes 10:1 As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.

Seems they smell. I don't remember this from Sunday School at all.

Maybe he doesn't like the action of the swatter (just the motion or negative energy you're giving off, violence, etc.). Dan's fine with the swatter until I use it and then he shies away. He doesn't mind me using my hands to try to catch flies/moths, but the swatter is a real turn off. Sunnie gets nervous even if I just use my hands.

Archie knows because then he has to swallow since he caught the fly.

Archie is extremely frightened of the fly swatter, something from his past. We're still working on at least just moving to another room and not slamming his body to the floor and shaking.

Sounds scared of it. Sometimes dogs like what they like and hate what they hate regardless of explanation. People are similar.

My cat leaves the room when she hears the button on the remote being pushed because she hates the TV (no bad prior experience that I know of).

All of the animals leave the room when I vacuum except Linus (no bad prior experience, just hates the vacuum).

Linus barks at my toothbrush when I point it at him (no bad prior experience).

If I sit on the floor in my house, Linus gives me the side eye and walks away because that is my stance when I do nails and he doesn't like it.
