Looking for some ideas of long-lasting chews

I'd like to get Levi something to chew on that he can work on for a few hours. I've tried the smoked femur bones, and he really likes those, but he makes a mess with them on the floor and sofa.

Any suggestions on something that will keep him busy for a few hours?

Ours get the marrow out of the raw bones in aboit 20 minutes. However the bones seem to last forever. I soak dog food till mushy then stuff bones & kongs and freeze.

Kongs take longer to unstuff but the bones get more interest when empty this way.

Also, large nylabones entertain our Labs for a while.

My dogs love knuckle bones but Chase has chipped the tips of his canine teeth on them, so he doesn't get them any more. I let mine chew on the really thick wholesome hide rawhide bones, but I don't let them chew on anything, bones, rawhide or anything else, for more than 15-20 minutes at a time. They are too likely to eat too much rawhide if I let them chew them for long, chip teeth, whatever. Lark will chew on antlers for a bit, but I've known dogs to chip teeth on antlers as well. So, for hours? Nothing I've found

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

We use deer antlers and buffalo horns. Our specialty dog shop has the "ethical" ones. Now he doesn't just chew for hours. He comes and goes from them at will. Also he loves pig hooves, however if he chews them a lot at one time it does smell like a barn. But they do not stain carpet or sofas.

Elk antlers and raw marrow bones (we freeze them first). The first thing we taught Luna was she is only allowed to eat raw marrow bones and bully sticks on a mat on the floor. That reallyyyy helps with the mess.

You can try antlers but I wouldnt let your dog chew on it for hours. Zoey has chipped a few teeth on antlers so be aware that can happen. I dont give them to her anymore because of that. I dont like nylabones either

Mine get rawhide retriever rolls for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. Im not dealing with any more broken teeth.

Sticking with antlers and nylabones. Not a big fan of rawhide, as it's gets really dirty, plus not a fan of dogs ingesting it either. But will keep time on how long the pup has to chew as it is important to watch teeth. Will definitely work on an "exchange program".

I also think it depends on the dog and how hard they chew. Zoey is a power chewer, as most labs are, and she chews hard and fierce, the harder the item, the more risk she has of breaking teeth. My corgi on the other hand isnt a power chewer, she is fine with antlers, she barely chews them, its more of a scraping that she does. She is perfectly happy with something like a bully slice, if I gave one of those to Zoey, she would have it destroyed in 2 bites just like bully sticks.

Oh and I keep the rawhide clean by only allowing them to chew it on a specific blanket in the living room. They arent allowed to move with them. It gets so nasty if they take it outside
