    Is that a scam?

Went to our local chain restaurant tonight. The younger couple next to us were leaving when I noticed her phone on the seat. It was weird because it was in the middle of the seat which meant that she would have been sitting on it. So I called out "Excuse me!" and told them they had left their phone. Then it got weird because she was mad. He kind of paused then came back to the table and went right for it. I hadn't said where it was or that it was hers. No one said thank you, she just turned her back on us. The guy did say, "She'd forget her phone anywhere."

What on earth was that about? Any ideas? She clearly meant to leave it there.

Maybe I watch too much TV but, she was not with him by choice and had left a message on her phone? Did they seem happy together?

I don't think so. They seemed very much in sync. She ordered a decent meal and ate without a problem. He wasn't angry about her leaving the phone either. Just very hesitant about coming back to get it. It seemed more as if they were trying to pull something. Whatever the issue, everyone looked when I called out to them so if anything happens, there are a lot of witnesses. It was a busy night.

I can't think of any scam off the top of my head on this one.

I was of the she was leaving a clue behind as to her whereabouts.

    Whole thing sounds odd.
    Thanks Everyone!!
