He ate a piece of glass!!!!

I accidentally dropped a beer bottle this morning while cleaning up the kitchen and it broke into a ton of pieces with one landing right at Coopers feet. Before I could even get the words leave it out of my mouth he ate it. It looked about the size of a nickel. I am so upset with myself and very, very worried about my boy!!!! I gave him a piece of bread to eat right away, and tried calling the vet but they aren't open until 9am. I am so worried about him....

To be honest, I would be driving to the E-vet right now if my boy had done this. That is my gut feel. The glass could cut him internally, which spells disaster.

I think he will probably be fine. Definitely something to call the vet over (which it sounds like you are driving there now), but I think they will most likely tell you to feed bread or something similar (which you did) and monitor. They might take an xray.

    Crazy! Def keep us posted.

My genius dog was in boat with me one day and I was pulling in the rods. One still had a worm on it and he decide to eat it while it is on the hook! I nearly had attack and swear it is one of the fastest I have ever moved in my life. Thankfully the hook did not catch anything in his mouth before I was able to grab it.

We are home from the vet.....he induced vomiting with Apomorphine and Cooper threw everything up, the vet thinks that the worse Cooper will have is some scratches on his esophagus. They gave him an anti-emetic injection to counteract the Apomorphine before he left the office...thank goodness because we are leaving on a nine day camping trip and it could have been a long ride for poor Cooper. Cooper is on a bland diet for a few days, I got the number for two vets in the area we will be camping, just in case.
Thanks for keeping my boy in your thoughts...He is home resting at my feet as I type
