We are so blessed to live in an area that has an off leash dog beach and a fresh water pond that is minutes from our house.

We take Lola to the beach almost every weekend and she took to the ocean like a fish from the beginning. We never got around to taking her to the local pond to swim until last week. She had a blast. Here's a link to a video that we took.

We took Lola to the pond today to swim and there was guy with a black lab who joined us. He had a chuck-it and threw the tennis ball way out in the water...much farther than Lola had ever retrieved from.

The black Lab jumped in the water, beat Lola to the ball and swam back, beating Lola to the shore. Guess what? The black Lab is 13 years old! There's about 4 or 5 spots where you can throw the ball in the water, and the owner said his dog has to retrieve one ball at each spot during their walk. He said that his dog is on arthritis medicine and they do acupuncture on a regular basis, but perks up when he has a chance to swim. So inspiring!
