Prayers for answers.
On Tuesday I took Marlin for the xrays. He also had extensive bloodwork/urine analysis which came back fine. However, the vet said he saw something around his hip area that he would like further examination. He said it could be nothing but wanted an ortho to check it out to be sure. So I am calling in the morning for an appt. He still won't go up the steps alone, but I swear it is not a physical thing. I think something spooked him because he is acting fine otherwise. The only thing that is still off is his not finishing his meals like he used to. Hopefully I will have an answer soon enough.
Good thoughts for Marlin. How old is he again, sorry my brain does not always work well!

Fingers crossed for Marlin's good results
He will be 11 months next week. To be honest, when the vet called to give me the results I was in the hospital with my 80 year old dad. Its been a tough time with two aging divorced parents so I was distracted and stressed and all I remember him saying was get an opinion from an ortho specialist to be on the safe side.
Sorry other stresses are adding to your worries, hope your Dad is ok.
Don't remember if I asked or commented at all earlier but will he go up stairs with someone else who is not aware of his reluctance? We knew my sister's dog's problem was a phobia and not something physical. But by chance he willingly trotted up and down our stairs with my OH one day. My OH somehow didn't know (what planet he lives on I don't know but it came in handy this time) Laddie had a thing about stairs, fully expected the dog would do as told and the dog did.
Often the Vet Techs can get them to do things they won't for owners but if your Vet doesn't happen to have stairs you wouldn't find out. It's really hard to convince yourself you have an expectation when you don't. Probably just as hard to find a person out of the loop to try too but a visiting friend or relative might work. It was a complete fluke for us with Laddie. Good thoughts.
I think every Vet's office should have stairs. Stairs are good for discerning all sorts of motion problems.

Praying it's nothing and Marlin is just spooked. Also, I'm sorry about your parents, I can't imagine how difficult that must be.
