We're BACK = Rivers and Creek update......

Started raw back in early February.

Since then, we are still on total raw with fabulous results. My only wish is that I had done it much sooner

Rivers is 100% chicken free; only gets turkey 2-3 times a month. His main course is ground beef 80/20; beef heart, veggies, and anything else one can think of - yogurt, eggs, etc.

Twice a week they get pre-packaged add in of venison meat/bone/organ meats; offset by salmon, Pollock, lamb tripe and a lamb blend of ground meat/organ meats.

Tried duck; but it's too fatty.

Creek gets all the same, but she also gets ground chicken and a blend of chicken organ meat.

Rivers has become very vibrant, hair is redder, eyes are clearer, not a single eye booger in 4 mnths and best of all - NO digestive issues, period.

His blood work - not that it was bad - shows his kidney values being way low versus the mid-range level that they were when he was on dry food.

Neither blood panel was bad; but it does tell me his kidneys are not working as hard.

I purposely have to add water to their meals, otherwise they won't drink. Rivers is back to running cattle, without issue and is holding his head high while doing it - rather then slumped over in the shade.

Creek is more and more looking like a tall border collie; although she is mostly Australian shepherd. Skinny as a rail, quick as a whip!

Both dogs are also taking green lipid mussel, vitamin mixture of sea kelp and blueberries, Flexicose (liquid glucosamine) .

Gone definitely are the days of stressing over trying to figure out what *works*, both financially and digestively.

Financially; have to say we're spending $40 less each month and getting a whole lot more sleep in just the peace of mind in knowing it's working!

Welcome back! Happy to hear your two are doing excellent on the new diet. Cookie is due for full bloodwork in September, can't wait to see the results.

Forgot to mention that I definitely see improvement in mobility issues too.

For a few months prior to starting raw, Rivers was starting to show some discomfort in his hips in getting up off the floor; probably from playing with Creek too hard, as his x-rays didn't show any arthritis.

Since March, I haven't seen any slowness in him getting off the floor.

Welcome back!!Hey, just remember with raw it is natural for a dog to reduce water intake significantly - dogs on raw diets drink significantly less water because their food has higher water content.

So glad the dogs are doing so well on raw. We find it more expensive here but not so much that we can't do it. Love the variety your dogs are getting. What we do for our pets.......but they're worth it!
