Danged if you do, danged if you don't

California couple faces fine for brown lawn after complying with water-saving rules | Fox News

Here's a couple who are being fined for watering their lawn and fined for not having a green enough lawn. That is a conundrum!

That's absurd. If we get drought conditions (rarely happens) we'd just let our lawn go brown and focus on the veggie garden and flower beds. The lawn will come back once the rain falls again.

What does the city want them to do, break the law?

Been watering a lot with resetting two gardens. So far, the lawn has had to fair on it's own.

That's ridiculous. Maybe they should get some clover established, it's longer roots are more drought tolerant than most lawn grass. That's what we do on our nearly pure sand yard. Trouble is, getting the seed to sprout and establish takes .... water.

As a Californian I'm not surprised, if you think that's bad you should see the new regulations on semi trucks. California needs a complete over haul on government agencies.

I was in CA on business and saw the news where the water restrictions are working and people are cutting down on their water consumption. Now, the water company is not making enough money and are raising the rates!
