Glad it wasn't more serious but migraines stink. And yes, driiving after having you eye(s) dialated, not a good idea!
I don't have a detached retina. Instead, I'm prone to migraines like my grandmother.
Incidentally, if your doctor ever tells you that dilating your eyes just makes everything brighter and that you're fine to drive home with your transitions lenses, don't believe it. I can barely see the computer screen and I really should not have driven home. Fortunately, I was on the back roads behind a student driver who was going ten miles per hour under the speed limit. I'm going to go sleep this off.

The first time I got my eyes dilated, they told me the same thing! He said it would be back to normal in 30 minutes and I could work fine on the computer. Oh wow! I couldn't focus on anything. The light hurt so bad! At 9:00 that night, my pupils were still big a saucers. Why do they say that when it's not true?!
Glad it's not a detached retina.

Driving with your pupils dilated could sure give you a migraine. Glad the retina is ok but did he not caution you about no lifing and not straining yourself? Mine did. My last one was a bit different though, I could see a floater after the flashes stopped.

I can see again! Glad I'm not the only one it affected like that. It was creepy.
I know a number of people who get those visual auras before migraine headaches. They're upsetting when you're not sure what's causing them. Glad that's "all" it was.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Good news. Though I understand having a migraine can be misery.

I think I misunderstood. Did the dilated pupils give you a migraine? Or did the Dr. think the flashes were an aura preceding a migraine? Or both?
