    Fun or possible torture ?

Emma loves to chase birds and squirrel and we live right behind a wooded area where there are plenty of both. We get some cool birds, and I thought it would be nice to see them in the patio area. I was thinking of getting a bird feeder and hanging it outside the patio.

But then I wondered would this be torture to Emma to look through the window and see a bunch of birds/squirrels she can't chase or maybe she'll enjoy it and desensitize her to the animals ?

We had a bird feeder outside our bay window for our cat at our old home. We called it kitty TV.

We had to do away with the bird feeder because it drew in the skunks. I tried again with a thistle feeder for the finches and they come in in droves. Archie is always chasing them away. Squirrels don't even attempt coming into the yard. I'm waiting for him to discover the chipmunk.

My bet is once she understands she is unable to chase them she'll lose interest while she is in the house.

I don't think it will be a big deal. I have always had several feeders up. Enjoy your birdwatching!
