    Possible Thyroid Issue

Kain had his yearly physical this past weekend and the vet thinks he may have a potential thyroid issue. I know others on the board have dealt with or know way more than I do in terms of screening and what to do next. He has an appointment at UC Davis to take blood and check him out next week. I remember reading about making sure they tested some specific parts in the thyroid screening and was looking to get any information! I appreciate anything, I feel so lost and worried about my baby!

You have to drive all the way up to Davis for a thyroid test?

You need a full panel for definitive diagnosis. T3, T4, Free T3 and Free T4. There is more info here: scroll down about 1/3. Also notice TSH is not necessary to test in dogs so make sure to tell your vet you don't want that (or the extra expense)

    HEMOPET.HTM

    Hoping his thyroid is normal.
