    Pooped Out

Got up this morning and had a long list of things to do. First, over to DD's to let Nicky out for a run. Back home and spent 2 1/2 hours cleaning the car. Try to cover everything that Archie might get on but still have dog hair to contend with. Everything is washed, buffed, and polished, inside and out.

Time for a snack and then out to the garden shed. Am in the middle of painting it. It's a barn red stain with white trim. It's a BIG shed with multiple windows. Wondered why it was taking so long to paint and then remembered we painted all the trim before putting it on. Half done.

Lunch and then back to let Nicky out for a play session. (DD's soon to be ex is in the hospital, she's at work and the kids are with his mother.)

On to mowing the lawn. Easy to do since we gotten so little rain. Watered all the gardens. Lots of squirrel and chipmunk activity around the pumpkin patch so put out rodent repellent (granulated fox urine). Works very well. Weeded the front garden and planted some bulbs.

Thank goodness, DH fixed dinner tonight.

Back out to do more painting, Archie my straw boss.

All this along with the regular household chores. Gonna sleep good tonight!

I'm going to sleep well tonight just from reading about your day.

Does the granulated fox urine have a smell? Maybe only if it gets wet? Does it smell a bit like skunk? I know in fox mating season, February - March, we can smell fox and it's a bit like lemony skunk.

You have more energy than I do Fran, I don't know where you get it, but I am glad you have it.

If applied per directions, no smell at all. I'm sure the dogs smell it though. We live in an area with tons of skunks so I keep it on hand. It works for all kinds of varmits, bunnies, chipmunks, squirrels. It does not hurt them, just encourages them to stay away. DH was telling me there seemed to be a lot of activity around the pumpkin patch so make sure to dose that site.

Yikes- busy day! The bulbs will look awesome in spring. It's a great feeling when they peek through.

oh my, that was a super-productive day..
hmmm, lemon-y skunk....weird, but i wonder if thats what i was smelling on our walks early this spring, i had just thought it was faint/distant skunk mixed with "nice" spring smells.
where do you acquire fox urine granuales? might be a good idea for around/under the deck, don't like to see the black with white stripes kitties when dogs are going out for their last call.
