Hard to watch him get old

I am finding, at times, it's hard to watch Maxxie getting old. We always go for the "meet & greet" Saturday mornings. He gets cookies at the stores, I go to Starbucks & this one he just didn't want to come. It's been very hot & some days he just doesn't want to go anywhere.
I sure missed him. I find myself spending way more time at home so I can hang out with him. I actually like it. Not so much running around. The weather is supposed to change & for the first time ever, I am hoping for cooler weather so he can enjoy being outside again.

He is actually 15 now. Just had his birthday. I love your guys too. Don't you just love the old guys? the other 2 are just gorgeous. How old is Bella? She looks quite big. I love big Labs. The bigger the better. I'm like that with horses too. I am drawn to them

It is hard but IMO the most precious time of their lives. He still has some much to give you just need to tune into it. How about bringing the cookie home to him?

    Gentle hugs being sent.

Know the feeling and when Lynn was about 13, I just stopped going out at all, except when I had to go shopping and pay the bills, realizing that every minute we had together was precious. ...and I agree with POPTOP that this is the most wonderful time of their lives with us and of our lives with them. It's a shame that you can't just stop it and make it last forever.

This is great advice. I spent yesterday after work with him. He is the kiddy pool me just yakking to passer byes. He has a lot of friends & neighbors so lots of visits. I do just enjoy hanging out with him. We don't need to go too far from home anymore.

Hudler can't go any where. We don't even like taking him to the vets because it's just so hard on him. I keep meaning to try to bathe him, but I don't know if it would be hard on his body.

We use a waterless shampoo on Mulder when he needs it. I don't like to bathe him in the hose as the cold water can trigger muscle spasms in his back (has happened before) and he can no longer manage the stairs to go up to our shower. He did go swimming in the lake the other day, which cleaned him up pretty good, LOL. It's probably not as good as a real bath, but does clean him up pretty well.
