    collars

Maverick is growing and while he still fits in his "baby" collar, I'd like a real nice collar for when he gets bigger. I'd like a leather collar, but don't want to break the bank buying one. Where do you buy your collars from?

They're the real leather? Not the fake leather stuff?

If by fake leather you mean betathane, I had mine custom made by a local gal who does tack repair. I love it. Bright green, waterproof, smell resistant, easily cleaned with soap and a wipe, very, very strong. It's used for lines and halters and such. One thing it does not do is resist punctures from dog teeth but Oban's only has one small mark.

One of my favorite places for leashes/collars is BOLD LEAD DESIGNS. The quick release leather collars are a nice change-up from typical buckle-style collars. Some doggie daycares prohibit buckle collars, so the quick release option is nice. I have several products from this company and the bridle leather is fantastic. Everything they make is handcrafted in Colorado.

Ella's Lead has made all my dogs obedience collars. The quality is great, and they offer various customizations that won't break the bank. I've had Paco Collars too.

Here are a few examples of our collars:

We got Bacon's from Cabelas. Really good quality, not super expensive.
