Good thoughts for.both of you.
Tilly had her annual check up the other day - everything all good until the Vet discovered that she has a broken tooth that needs to come out. The stoic little girl had not shown any signs that anything was amiss but the vet says it can lead to other problems if it stays in and said she is in some pain. Ouch!
She's scheduled for surgery on Monday.
I'm gonna be a tad edgy all day after dropping her off in the morning and would appreciate good thoughts. Oh, and the fasting in the morning is going to be very hard on this food hound (and her Mum).
Many thanks, Kim (& Tilly)

Sunnie just had a molar extracted....no issues.
We kept the cone on her for two weeks...vet said no rubbing/pawing/bitey-face allowed....but she never acknowledged that her mouth felt funny at all. We took the cone off whenever we were around...she was so afraid of it at first (Sunnie is neurotic and the first dog I've ever had who actually cringed when it was on for the first three days...miserable little pooch.)
We also had her on antibiotics for two weeks...no issues there, either, surprisingly, but she gets yogurt with her meals and that helped to protect her tummy.
Yeah....the food deprivation is the hardest....most likely even harder on us. Plus I had to sneak food to Danny without Sunnie knowing.
Good luck for Monday and for her recovery.
Oh, and Sunnie was back to eating her kibble (with wet/yogurt/water) the second day after....vet said she wouldn't need just soft food and she didn't. (I did give just canned/yogurt the first day after, though, just in case.)

Tilley will do fine. We've had several who have had teeth extracted and they do very well. I did feed canned food for the first few days and then put kibble in the blender to break it down, added water, and they did very well. When you think about it, they don't chew their food, they gulp.
Archie was different as his work was extensive and involved multiple teeth at one time, skin flaps and more. For a single tooth all the others did much better than I would have.
Sending good thoughts. The worse will be the "where's my breakfast" look.

Thanks all for the good thoughts, I appreciate it. I was planning on blending her food for a couple of days if the Vet said it was needed (agree POPTOP she does gulp so may not be needed), and SunDance, the yoghurt is a great tip also if she is on antibiotics. Thanks again, Kim
Good luck to Tilly. I'm sure she will do great!
