    Brushes From PetSmart

    Hello

Jack sheds a fair bit, and we currently use a pinbrush and an all plastic brush (its orange, but I cant remember the brand) I am making a trip to Petsmart with my allowence ($20, but I can afford a $10 brush at the most) and im wondering what brushes you would all suggest from there?

I'd recommend a Zoom Groom...to be used before the pinbrush.

PetSmart shows the ZG to be 10.49 but it just might be cheaper at the store.

Looking online, the orange plastic brush might be a curry similar to the Zoom Groom. If so, I would get either an untangler brand comb with rotating teeth or an undercoat rake. Or possibly a shedding comb. Check the sales bins to see if there are any bargains. I do see one Magic brand rake for 6 bucks , but most are $11.

Try a tack shop near by if you want a Zoom Groom. ZG are very much like a curry comb which are $2 to $10 at a tack shop near me. We have one nifty, spiffy one called Greenhawk which now has a good sized pet department. Or is that the one you already have?

Agree with a Zoom Groom. In addition to that, I use a Bamboo brand comb with rotating teeth. The Zoom could be your first purchase and it really grabs the undercoat shedding coat. Hint: When it appears to not be working as well, wash with dish soap and its back to new. It gets coated with the natural coat oils.

I use a rake. It pulls out the undercoat that needs to come out and leaves the rest of the hair alone. I find it a lot more effective than the Zoom Groom. Amazon.com : FURminator Dog Rake (104012) : Pet Dematting Rakes : Pet Supplies

I use a generic zoom groom knockoff. It gets the job done for me.

Petsmart usually has their own knockoff imitations for a few dollars less which helps a tight budget.

Good to see a responsible young person taking care of their pet and watching their finances. Kudos to you!

I have a soft bristle brush (used mostly for brushing sand off the dogs), a Zoom Groom, Furminator, and a slicker brush. If I had to pick one, it would be the slicker brush; it produces the best results of all those.
