    Zoom Groom?

I have been using the Zoom Groom on Rex for the last 2 years. I looked at a new one in the store yesterday. The nubs on mine is worn down alot. Do you replace it or keep using it?

Have one and the nubs have not worn down. If that is what has happened, would definitely replace. An occasional wash with dish soap gets mine back to new.

I recently replaced one that was worn down and there seemed to be, to me at least, quite a noticeable difference in how much more fur I was able to remove. Also, remember to periodically wash the Zoom Groom in warm sudsy water to remove whatever residue as it seems to rejuvenate its effectiveness.

ETA: sorry -I just noticed that Poptop already covered the washing renewal.

Mine is a curry comb and made of tougher rubber and is not worn. It's oval. You can get the softer ones in curry combs too and near me some are much less expensive than a zoom groom. $3.99 to $10.49. Try a tack shop.

I find the zoom groom a great tool when bathing but on dry fur I prefer the furminator. Furminator also makes a shampoo and conditioner called shedless that works really well and doesn't smell too bad.

Do the color matter? We have a purple(pink?) one that's getting worn down. Might order a new one from amazon this weekend.
