They'll probably get used to it and become desensitized as long as it's not emitting a sound that they find painful.
My one neighbour has three dogs who bark at the fence at our dogs and vis versa. I notice the last day that my dogs started barking at the corner of fence where they have a shed. I thought an animal was back there but it turns out they put a solar pest repellent in the ground.
This thing gives out a noise and vibration to scare away moles and other pests apparently.
Now my two idiots think there is something living by their shed and immediately run out to the fence with their hacks and tails up and start barking. At 6:00 am no less.
What the hell do I do about that?

I would see if you can borrow it from your neighbor unless it is one stuck in the ground, and so you can show them what it is. Those don't work BTW, at least for me they never did. I really had moles bad when I bought my house. I got one of those stuck it in the ground and 2 days later I noticed a mole trail all the way up to it the mole wasn't afraid but curious as to what it was. I honestly had mole issues until about a year after I got Hemi they all disappeared. However I greatly reduced the population by trapping them before hand But that was a long and slow process.
your neighbour needs some garter snakes, not that device! seriously, i had a HUGE mole and vole problem in my front yard. it was soooo bad that when you cut the grass, it looked like the grass was alive and moving like the sea - but it was a wave of moles and voles moving away from the mower. "borrowed" a few snakes from friends that had LOTS of them (I hadn't seen one around the house for many many years), and the moles and voles I don't see anymore. now my neighbour wants some of the snakes....
Maybe introduce your neighbour to Nematodes to kill the grubs that attract the moles?
How to Get Rid of Moles in Your Lawn | Planet Natural
LOL, I see this article says the solar devices won't bother pets.
Perhaps the barking 6 AM wake up call with persuade them to get rid of it
Funny story...several years ago, my sisters kids were into maps and buried treasure. So, their grandma let them bury treasure in her yard. The next spring, she got moles. My nephew was so worried about his treasure, that they made a fast trip to grandma's so he could dig up and re-bury his treasure. Don't know how she got rid of the moles, but it wasn't the sonic thing.
Another funny story. Had them in the yard on base when we lived in CA. Mom tried sticking the hose down the hole and flooding them out, didn't work. She would boil water and add Clorox and as soon as she saw one pop up she'd run out and pour that down the hole. Think she finally pestered them so much they moved on.
