    Canidae

Does anyone feed the Canidae all life stages formula? I'm thinking about trying it for Sam. He's only ever been on Pro Plan and I thought I might give something else a try just to see how he does.

Daisy's littermate is on it -his owner recommended it to me when I was worried about Daisy's weight.

Does anyone know if Canidae is manufactured by Diamond? When I did a google search it seemed Diamond may manufacture Canidae foods. However, the Canidae website suggests they have their own manufacturing facility. Since I need to buy food today, I'll probably get his regular Pro Plan since he does well on it and keep looking. Maybe I should just look at the different proteins in the Select line of Pro Plan.

My understanding is that Canidae WAS using Diamond as their manufacturer at the time of the big Diamond-kills-pets tragedy. Canidae responded to that by buying their own facility so they could better control ingredients and quality. Now Canidae products are made in Canidae's plant. We are feeding Canidae Pure Sky (duck-based) to Jake. He loves it and it cured the dog farts.

I feed Candidae to both my 13 year old lab and the puppy. Both grain-free. Very high quality and top marks on dog food ratings. They love it (well, they love everything) but I think it is quite good for them. I use the grain free ever since my older dog has a mast cell and spindle cell tumor. Grain causes inflammation which feeds cancer. He is now cancer free - and the spindle cell - which could not have clean margins without removing his leg - has not grown back at all.

I have fed Canidae ALS to all my adults for ~15 yrs now. Never had a problem. I would not feed it to a growing puppy, however, as I found the calcium levels are too high for good (uniform/slow) growth. I stick to Euk LBP for the puppies thru 1yo.
