Sportdog is fine...but there are more reliable and consistent collars out there. I love my tritronics. Dogtra is also very good and ive recently heard wonderful things about Einsteinl/Educator brand.
Looking at Sportdog versions of 825 or 1225
Only reason I'm looking at the 1225 version is it appears to have a wider range of options and more range; of which I don't really need. But I like the wider range of optional use for sensitive dogs.
Can anyone tell me their opinions of Sportdog collars and their reliability. I've heard mixed reviews.
The dogs are excellent in every way except recall when there are rabbits, deer, etc we live out in the country, and my main goal is to give the dogs off leash options without constant fear they're going to get into something.

I didn't use mine yet
Will be going for some training on how to use it tomorrow
TriTrionic was purchased by Garmin
Have a Garmin Delta..
When I did some calling around.most recommended Garmin or Dogtra .
Garim was approx. 50 dollars less and for what I want it for seems to be ok.
My main purpose is simple recall .
Moses is pretty good.(with coming) .but likes to stop for a scent here and there then forgets his name
Also I want to use it for swimming once he is in the water he will not come out ..so when he comes to shore he comes to me .
I am hoping it works ..again have not use it on Moses just now putting the collars on for 2 to 3 hours a day (no charged) so he does not get collar wise
I had thought about Garmin - most reviews were either superb or horrible.
I have the Dogtra Element 300M. The cost was reasonable and I like that the settings go from 0-100 for a more precise stimulation level. The Sportdog collars I looked at had settings from 1-9 and I felt the levels weren't as adjustable as the Dogtra collar.

Seriously looking at the Educator 402TS - it is a 2-dog controller and is recommended for sensitive dogs with medical grade wide stimulus rather then sharp stimulus - think I like that better. Not bad, 2 dog system is right at $300
Love our Sportdog 825

I've heard nothing but great things about the educator collars... I'm thinking that's the direction I'll go if I need to replace my tritronics. Not sure I fully trust Garmin yet.
Any opinions on the Dogtra IQ?

I got the Einstein ET-300TS Mini E-Collar. Now I wish I had gotten a two dog system. Other than that I am very pleased with it.
