At the urging of my neurologist, I had an appointment today to start Botox therapy. I am on three different medications for my Parkinson's so I feel like I'm popping pills all day long. But, I still have problems with my left leg. My ankle rolls over and it throws my gait off and the doctor is worried I am a fall risk. Knock wood, that hasn't happened yet. Instead of adding another pill to the mix, my doctor really wanted my to try Botox. She made it seem like the injections were fairly easy but gosh, two of the four shots I got were pretty unpleasant. It will take 10-14 days for the effects of the toxin to start showing, but I'm really excited that this will help. Has anyone had Botox therapy? Did it help? Did the injections get easier?

No personal experience but a friend's cousin gets them for migraines. Apparently they are a miracle for her and her only complaint is they don't put them the same place for migraines as they do for wrinkles.
I worked for a neuro for years who did botox on adults and children. We saw a lot of good results, I hope it works for you

I've heard really good things about how well Botox treats migraines. It's pretty fascinating that they figured out how to use this toxin for therapeutic benefits. I have one injection site that has a bruise and is a little sore this morning. Other than that, I'm no worse for wear. Just waiting to see how I react.

oh gosh, i really hope that helps you! might it then allow you to cut back on some of the other medications?
I'm definitely interested in how it works for you as my grandfather had Parkinson's, chances are my father's going to get it (grandfather was symptomatic at 61), and if my dad gets it, probably me too.
