My wife and I both placed third for our age group!!! (She for the female division and myself for the male, obviously).
I didn't quite meet my goal of finishing in less than 25 mins...but I came close!! I finished in 25:43!! Not bad considering I only started running in mid to late June. I did do a little better than that in my last workout on Tuesday but hey, still a good run and we had a GREAT time!!!!
My wife finished in 35:04 which is her best time ever. Her most recent workouts have been around 37 mins. I'm really really proud of her considering how hard the C25K program was for her at the beginning and that all she hoped to do was finish. She's now into running enough that she's trying to talk her friends into running so they can do the race with us next year.
My overall summary of the whole thing? SUCCESS!!!!
It really was a blast, the crowd was great and the fact that it's a benefit run for The Wounded Warrior Project is a huge bonus. I definitely intend to run this same race (and maybe a couple others) again next year!!

Great job!! That's a great time for just starting getting into running. If you do the race again next year I'll bet you could take off a few minutes.
Take a day off enjoy a yummy meal! and get back to work on Monday!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
