aww, good girl Kimber!
We took Kimber to a local street fair this weekend. It was much more crowded than we anticipated, but Kimber had an awesome time. She didn't spook at the crowds, the strollers, the people in mascot costumes, or even the kid-sized train that zoomed by. She took it all in very calmly, tail wagging, always looking for a quick pet and some dropped food. There weren't many dogs and she got a fair amount of attention; a number of little kids shouted, "Look at that HUGE dog!" which cracks me up. Compared to them, I'm sure she did look huge. She gave some drive-by kisses and sniffed a few butts (oops). One guy in a cowboy hat noted her limp and said, "That dog has a hitch in her getalong!" My new favorite line.
Afterwards, we strolled to a neighborhood cafe that has a few tables for outside seating. DH and I shared a delicious chicken sandwich with Kimber offering to help. She's an attentive audience:
At the end of the day, DH and I reminisced about how crazy Kimber used to be and how we take her good behavior for granted now. Man, do I love this dog!

Hope Kimber was able to get a bite of your chicken sandwich for being such a good girl.

Sounds Luke a great day for you and Kimber! I laughed at the "huge dog" comment, kids are Sib funny. I am surprised Kimber didn't offer her services to the kitchen to help with cleaning the dishes! I think that would be one of Maxx's, and many other Lab's, dream jobs, lol!
