WHY, WHY would anyone want to BUY treats when you can MAKE your own and KNOW they are safe and good for your dog???????????

Lots and lots of people don't really realize they can make treats for their pets. I'm sure it probably wouldn't occur to my Dad. Plus, just like food you buy in a grocery store, there is an expectation for food/treats bought in stores to be SAFE at the very least.

Because my time is more valuable than that.

It takes me maybe 10 minutes to slice chicken breast and throw it in the dehydrator. Perhaps another 10 - 15 minutes to cut up thier daily fruits and veggies. My dogs are worth that time, they are worth just about everything to me.

I am very sorry, for you, that you can't/won't do the same for your dogs, that it takes up "too much valuable time". Maybe a fish would be more your style.

Then why did you get a dog? Such a "waste" of your "precious" time.

Same reason we buy chips and soda and snacks and pre packaged meals. It's a marketing gimmick. Plus it's easy to buy pre made treats.

Wow! I for one always buy treats from the store and I certainly don't think that makes me any less of a pet owner. I don't buy these types of treats but regularly buy biscuits for Sam and I have an expectation that what I buy is safe.

It's ridiculous to say anyone who doesn't have time to home cool all of their dogs treats is a bad owner and should have a goldfish.
