seeking older black male ENGLSIH lab to adopt

    Hello,

Recently I lost my adored black English lab Wiggins at age 12.
My two females, Irish Setter Tally 12 and Rednose pit Bonnie 7, are visibly missing their big brother. I am heartsick.

Please contact me with any suggestions for adopting a senior/adult black male ENGLISH lab with the huge smile and constanty wagging otter tail.

    Thank you!

You might want to look into a local lab rescue or south east lab rescue. If not shelters around your area might be able to help you out! Get on google, or adopt a pet to help find some in your area.

Thank you for wanting to adopt an older dog!!

Good luck. No suggestions except your local rescue groups. Thanks for adopting - dog after next is going to be a rescue again ... not changing my mind on the next dog as the breeder already knows about me and we have been corresponding a lot.

I'm sorry for your loss. I live in FL and do rescue. If you really want a labrador with bench ("English") looks, you most likely won't find one in a shelter or rescue. I've been doing this for over 10 years and have only ever seen one bench bred lab in rescue. Your best bet would be to contact breeders and see if any have an older dog they are looking to place. If you get a few more posts, I think you need 10, I can PM you the name of a good show breeder down here. If she doesn't have any older dogs available, she may know of someone who does.

    Thanks for looking to rescue!

The three best decisions I ever made were rescuing each of my dogs.

So very sorry for your loss.

Homing older labs is what I do. Please do look into rescues. Also, contact your area lab club. Often breeders network to help placing dogs in need. Also, I have had several older dogs from breeders.

While not a senior, 4 year old Yogi looks like quite the find.
