Those darn Labs - Rocky ate 12 cups of food...

Sigh. They never grow out of it do they - Rocky is 10 and still finds trouble

Totally my fault - I was dog sitting for two fosters this weekend (so four dogs in the house including a 6 month old catahoula mix pup!) and something fell thru the cracks. I left the food for one foster out when I went to walk the two girls (the puppy was crated and Rocky was not).

I chatted with the vet and he not only shows no sign of bloat we are not well over 24 hours since the incident and likely the risk of bloat has passed. (it happened yesterday around noon). He still has one upset tummy and pooping a storm (and occasional killer fasts) but hopefully is back to normal tomorrow.

so -1 for the forgetful doggy mom! I am usually so good at dog proofing, I know the drill! I just totally had a brain fart on this one.

Oh yeah, I've left the top of the food bag open and found Lark with her head down in the bag, hoovering up the food as fast as possible. It happens even when you think you've got it under control and then with 2 fosters? Crazy! Hope the aftermath is over soon for Rocky!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Think some sort of event has happened to all of us. They are very sly.

Quite a crew to look after.

Maybe offer a little in the morning and see how it goes. And walk carefully in the yard, there have got to be some huge bombs out there.

    Great pictures of gorgeous pups!

Perhaps a small amount of food tomorrow morning, unless he's really hungry tonight? Hope you are all back to normal soon!

Oh my gosh! How do you do it?? I had three for two weeks with my parents year old 85 lb. Chocolate lab and just keeping up with the poop alone was crazy! But they kept each other occupied. I live in fear of Barley eating a whole bag of food. I hope Rocky feels better soon!

Glad to hear Rocky is doing okay. It is amazing how much they can eat.
