What is it about leaves and poop?

So it is fall, time to clean up the leaves. I got a late start last night and rand out of time. I had 2 large piles out front, maple has all fallen. The back the oaks still have yet to fall. So anyway I got one of the piles all cleaned up and it was really dark and we both needed supper so I called it for the night. We will get the other pile tonight. Well it was also garbage night too so later in the evening we go out to take the garbage to the curb and where do you think Hemi decides to go poop.

Right in the middle of the pile I of leaves I didn't get to yet.

I swear he does this on purpose. This is last year too. I am right in the middle of blowing the leaves out into the woods. You can see the clean area at the bottom of my feet. Does he poop in the clean area or the direction I am going? He is lucky I love him.

    LOL, Hemi is a character!

With the maple in the front yard gone, it's much easier this year but we still have the maple in the back yard. I swear the leaves only fall to cover the poops. Been a little behind in cleaning up the poops so naturally there has been a lot of shoe cleaning. Still working on some kind of device so that when the furkids go, the poop glows or something so it can't be missed.

I think dogs consider leaf piles giant doggy litter boxes. It never fails, as soon as there is a pile, someone is popping in it! And then the fun of kicking the leaves all over the place begins. I swear my 2 get the biggest grins when they are done, they are so proud and happy!

Just walk through the leaves....your shoes are sure to find it.

There's a big dog turned loose all the time from the neighborhood behind us....aims for our front yard to do his business. Now that the leaves are falling, I've stepped in two poops (he is a walking pooper...it's not a big pile that's really obvious to begin with) and thrown out both pairs of shoes because it squished up on to the leather. Both times it was covered by leaves (Bob tends to mow at least every other day purely because of the leaves from our neighbor's big trees, so it's not like we're ignoring the yard for too long.)

I really wish I could find out which house that dog belongs to so that I could b1tc4 about it. Or report them to animal control.

See, Jeff....Hemi's actually being considerate by going on top of those leaves.

Arh it's the leaves! I wondered why my dog would go off into the off track sections on bush walks to do an extra poop for the day in the most difficult area for me to reach. It was heavily covered in leaves....I thought she did it because it was an inaccessible area for me because of the snakes and ticks and just plain too difficult for me to pick up.

The leaves in your photo make a good photo though.

Macy loves to play Find It with her ball when I rake a big pile of leaves. Without fail, my shoes also play "find it" but it's a big leaf colored dooky.

If only there were a poop detector, like a land mine detector.

This is the time of year I *try to remember to wear* wear a dedicated pair of shoes that don't come inside.

    Sometimes i remember.
