    Hello

I'm Bernie, I currently live in a rented property with my friend and our 2 dogs (8 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier - Kera and 5 and half month old English Cocker Spaniel - Luna).

I love to go walking my dogs and go to dog training once a week with Luna and my parents West Highland White Terrier Millie. I'm hoping to start Agility in February/March with Luna but hoping in a year or two to acquire my first Labrador. I would love to get into dog showing as a small hobby at local shows with the prospect of having my own litter one day to keep a pup back for myself to show.

If anyone can give me any tips on what to look for in a potential show pup that would be great. I'm hoping to visit crufts next year on Gundog Day to see them in action and looking for some local shows that I can attend as well.

Welcome to the board. We are mostly from the U.S. and Canada here but do have some UK members. I know some of the breeders on this board can give you some tips and perhaps put you in touch with some UK breeders. There is a paid membership UK Lab board and a free chat board run by breeders of all breeds in the UK called Champdogs. We would like to know how you do in that area so please stay with us. There's lots here independent of country and pertaining to Labs where ever they are. And, we'd like to see your two pups, we love all dogs.

Dan is one of those amazing seniors - four-legged wisdom and kindness. Of course the rest of them are also cute, after all, they're dogs

I don't get to see him often as my Auntie lives an hour away so not easy without a car so I spend as much time with him as I can when he visits my Nan who lives over the road. Although I don't think Dan has much longer left in him from what my cousin's been telling me

Really sorry to hear that, he's a gorgeous boy, and he looks, say, relaxed, but really well. All we can do is send our wishes for good health and keep our fingers and dewclaws crossed for good luck, hoping he'll give you a nice surprise, being here a lot longer than expected. M&M

    Hello and Welcome!

What a great looking pile of puppies. Yep, I call them all puppies.

Best advice I can give you is to start going to shows and talking with breeders when they are not busy. Most are more than willing to talk the breed and share their wisdom. They will help you learn about choosing a good puppy, genetic clearances, etc. There is a lot to learn but if you are dedicated to the breed, it will be fun learning.
