    I'm so upset

I'm so upset with myself. I was such an idiot. Sam hardly ever jumps up on us when we come home, but for some reason today he greeted me with a great big jump. My hands were full and one of the things I was holding was a weekly pill organizer. It flew out of my hand and Sam grabbed it. The sensible thing to do would have been to remain calm, but what do I do but let out a big gasp, yell no, and lunge for the pill organizer in Sam's mouth. Of course Sam thinks "game on" and takes off running. Pills were flying everywhere. At this point I'm in a panic trying to get Sam to drop the pill organizer. I have tears streaming down my face and I keep saying drop it, drop it, when my daughter finally hears all of the commotion. We were finally able to double team him and he dropped the pills. I am still shaking at the thought of what might have happened. After crawling around on my hands and knees for a while, I finally found all of the pills - there were 50 of them! I don't know what got into Sam with the jumping up but I'm guessing my panicked reaction caused the ensuing chaos. I obviously need to work on training some more. I need to figure out how to make Sam have a negative reaction to my pill organizer...

Oh no! That is scary but in the end he didn't get any pills and he is safe.

I had a similar experience today. Lily grabbed something nasty on a walk today. I had the same kind of reaction and before I knew it she had eaten it. Worst part is, I don't even know what it was!

Something so similar happened to me. I was filling my weekly pill organizer when I dropped a bottle of vitamins. Mocha was right there! I grabbed him by the collar (and quite a bit of his neck) and started yelling "Leave it Leave it Leaveit all!" DH (who remained calm) put him in his kernel and we were down on our knees searching for every one. It was scary for a minute. One of my frequest prayers is that Mocha doesn't ever get hurt because of my stupidity. I'm glad you and Sam are OK.

Like the others have said, it happens and I'm no exception. Lately I've been so paranoid about Mardi grabbing a dropped pain med since she's always at the counter when I'm there. I'm so glad that all Sam got was fun. Our furkids are so happy to see us when we get home, it's hard to be mad at them when they pull something like this. I've had Mardi greet me at the door, my hands full and she gets her foot caught up in my purse. Of course, as soon at it gets floor level, she's digging for goodies. Scary.

So glad it turned out OK.

That is so scary and your panic is very normal, don't be mad at yourself. Thank goodness nothing happened and you found all the pills. Maxx once jumped up on the bed when I had a bottle of pain meds open and of course they went flying. He thought picking them up in a panic was a fun game, I panicked. I was lucky my son was standing nearby and grabbed him. I had no idea how many pills were in that bottle, it was months old. I didn't even want him in the bedroom for a long time for fear he would find one we missed.
