Figured out how to get him to stop

The neighbor's female yellow lab came outside last night when we had Oliver out and he was intently sniffing something in our yard. Bella (neighbor's dog) barked once and Oliver came flying back up onto the deck. LOL. I didn't know he could move that fast! All his hair was sticking up on his back. I told the neighbor that if I have a problem with Oliver listening to me, I will borrow Bella and let her bark at Oliver until he listens.

I wish I had gotten a picture of his Mohawk...it was great!

The mohawk you're referring to is his hackles being raised by a process called piloerection, the same thing that happens to us when we get goosebumps. You'll probably see it many more times in his life :-)

It's a signal of adrenaline running through their body, that they are excited, interested, aroused, startled, afraid, aggressive, etc. Any number of things. The first time you see it is definitely an occasion to remember. He is so cute.

Too funny! I always crack up when tough guy Finnegan (4.5 months) gets his mohawk.
