my 10 year old lab started yesterday throwing up mucus ,he starts when he gets up from laying down with a dry hack then throws up mucus,he eats and drinks regularly but while eating he starts with this hack,the bowl is elevated both water and food,just let him out this morning and he pee'ed so I'm taking him to the vet this morning,should I feed him,we give him a small portion in the morning an a small portion in the evening since birth

mucus or white foam? It could be kennel cough, it could be a chest cold. They might end up taking an xray of his lungs. Hudler was vomiting a bit and we were worried about a tumor inside, instead they found the start of pneumonia. After a couple days of meds, he was really coughing up. He got better from it though.

At 10 years old...I would not take any chances..and he needs a Vet visit
After dealing with seniors for years, I agree with seeing the vet.
went to the vet 1st thing in the morning yesterday,he threw up at the vet mostly clear like flem,little bit of white foam,the vet ,not his usual vet due to it was saturdy and I guess she's off, he gave him a shot maropitant "cernia" the stomach is tight not distended,he lies down with no discomfort,so I'm thinking it's not bloat,my last chocolate lab passed at 14 years old from bloat and this lab does not show any of those symptoms ,he stops coughing after we give him the pepsid ac,the vet said to give him 3 days after the shot and if it doesn't clear up to bring him back,by then my usual vet will be in ,I didn't feed him prior to the visit just in case but they ran no tests,a little disappointed but I think he'll be ok ,he's acting normal except for they cough but after the pepsid and his meal the cough goes away

Vomiting often is not normal, I would not wait very long to see your regular vet. Pepcid is often given if a dog is vomiting bile/has an issue with "empty tummy" but what you are describing is not bile. Perhaps you can discuss the visit yesterday with your regular vet on Monday so he/she can decide what tests need to be run first. There is a reason for this symptom, it is not normal.

I Know it's not normal,as to it just started thursday night,it is a clear mucusy fluid,my wife pointed out he just started when I gave him swiss cheese thursday,he was good after he left the vet on saturday,then this morning I gave him the pepsid in swiss cheese and he started with the yacking,no fluid but like a cough,he seems bloated too the vet says its gas,he eats natural balance sweet potatoe and venicin,but since he's been doing this my wife has cooked him ground meat with rice in a beef broth
