Need A Couple Of Cookie Recipes

Sugar cookie and gingerbread or molasses cookie.

Have a sugar cookie recipe but not sure it will hold up to what I want to do. I'm using 3D cookie cutters like this: Amazon.com: Nordic Ware 3-D Winter Series Cookie Cutter Set: Kitchen & Dining

Also, would love to have a good gingerbread or molasses cookie recipe for some other cookie cutters that Secret Santa sent us. One is a lab and the other is a German shepherd. I make a mean ginger snap cookie but don't have a recipe for a rolled out cookie.

i'll get you my gingerbread recipe tomorrow, it makes a mean gingerbread man! i like lots of flavour in mine, and these have it. just have to make sure i don't give you the slight modification for building the gingerbread house with it, just a bit stiffer.

Basic Gingerbread recipe good for cookies , men and houses. I have altered to my taste pref.

5 cups all purpose flour plus more if needed
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
1 TBS ground ginger I use about half or less if using fresh ginger
    2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp allspice or nutmeg
1 cup (two sticks ) of butter at room temp
    1 cup sugar
    3/4 cup Molasses
    1 largge egg
    1tsp vanila extract

Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and allspice

In a large bowl on medium speed mix butter and sugar together. Then beat in molasses, egg, and vanila. Lower speed and gradualy add flour . Consistancy should be medium stiff and sticky. If its too soft add more flour.

Devide and wrap in plastic refrigerte till firm. Remove let stand for a min and roll. Place on a lightly floured board and roll to 1/4 inch thick and cut as desired

Place 1 1/2 iches apart on a prepared cookie sheet

    Pre heat oven to 350

Bake for 10-15 min till golden on the edges

    Let cool

    Enjoy
