    My husband has shingles again.

Wish us luck. It's been all of three months, maybe. We are hitting the anti-virals immediately and trying natural remedies this time as well. Anything that can help.

Oh geez....I didn't realize that was something that would return.

    I've declined getting the vaccine...immune reasons....hope I don't end up regretting it.

Good thoughts for your husband getting rid of them for once and for all. Maybe the second time around will be milder.

Darn, sorry. A work colleague had a terrible time with it. On discussion with our Doctor we've vetoed the vaccination too. But I guess all it takes is a little unexpected stress in your life and out it can pop. My work colleague had mega stress - her daughter away at University across the country disappeared. Jo got a call from the girl's roommate asking if she'd gone home. She was found a week later but had amnesia, really bad, and didn't remember who she was, what happened, where she was - nothing. That'd give you any number of stress related diseases. Hope your husband jumped on the meds in time.

    Hope he gets well soon!

I just got a shingles vaccine because I was notified by my insurance company that as of 10/14 insurance will cover it and my Dr. strongly recommended it. Also learned that if you are 60 + you do not even need a prescription. My co-pay was $25.00, Spouse's co-pay $45.00 He's on Medicare & Aetna.
This concludes the public service announcement!

Good thoughts! DH's grandpa had it and he said it was the worst. I'm one of the lucky ones that's young enough to have had the vaccine for chicken pox, so I can't get shingles.

    Best of luck! No fun.

i had the vaccine and got them anyway.

dr said i would have had a much worse case. and probably would have jumped out of a window.

i was on oxy for 3 weeks. it wasn't the rash that bothered me as much as the nerve in the back. you know, where your bra rests.(at least he doesnt wear one)

where is the rash this time?
