    Small bubble near spay incision

Abby was spayed last Thursday (six days ago) and has been one happy puppy since the anesthesia wore off. We have kept an eye on her throughout the day and keep her coned at night and we have seen her try to lick the incision. However, this morning, I noticed a little bubble on the side of the incision that I don't remember seeing before. Is this part of the normal healing process or is this something that needs attention? She hasn't been paying any attention to it and she doesn't act like anything is wrong but I am a little paranoid about her health.

I would take her in for a look-see. If it does need attention you will be glad you did instead of worrying.
You probably won't even be charged as the post surgery instructions tell you to call if anything unusual.
One of my girls popped internal stitches and had to have a subsequent surgery.

Call the office, see if you can send the photo. Maybe they can talk you through it without an office visit.

I'd bring her in for a check too. They shouldn't charge you for it.

Agree, the vet should know. It could be a little reaction to a stitch. I notice another little pink spot at the top of the incision; again might be a reaction to a stitch.

Glad to hear otherwise she is healing well otherwise.

The vet took a look and thought it was a reaction to the stitches. However, she prescribed antibiotics as a precaution and after one pill, they almost completely cleared up. Not sure if it was time or the pill but it looks so much better after a few hours. Thanks all for the input.

    Great update!

Can't remember which one we had who had the same type reaction. Cleared up very quickly.

    Great Christmas present.
