Watching your husband mow the lawn?
We bought a Cub Cadet riding mower last year after realizing that I had planted a lot more lawn than could be reasonably mowed with a manual mower. We always have a small hay field.
Had a problem with the battery not charging, got it fixed but never started it afterward because of the construction then realized that we didn't have anywhere to store it for the winter so we bought a cover, put it on the driveway and crossed our fingers.
Just tried it and it started right up! I was pretty sure that was a no go but it seems good. Guess what I'm doing for Memorial Day?

Gee, that's nice. We don't need to cut grass yet, darn stuff is dying already from lack of rain and it hasn't had a chance to grow. OH worked on the garden tiller for hours yesterday and I arrived home Saturday night to find the garden all tilled up and ready to go. Our lawn mower, tiller and snowblower are all old, good thing he's mechanical.
I love riding the mower and cutting. Glad your mower started up. Have fun.

We're in a strange place from all that I've heard. We got all of the tornado moisture from the midwest US without the negative effects. Ours is so dark in some areas in the new lawn it's almost black. I went at it once with the manual mower but it was so thick in places that it shut the mower down. I'm taking advantage of the steady light rain to expand the lawn since I've never seen this kind of weather here before.
I want a tiller. I think that's next on my Christmas list.
My husband mourned when his riding mower finally went. Congratulations on the first start!
Love my tiller. Great to use to till in the rabbit compost.
