    Pet Food MisLabelling

Pet foods: Not all brands follow meat regulations -- ScienceDaily

This is not the article I mentionned in my thread here: Nutriscan Results for Oban - Food Sensitivity and Intolerance

But it's in the same vein and thought some would like to read it. Mislabelling might be why it's hard to find a food that works and might be why elimination diets sometimes don't seem to shed any light either.

Sad thing is, in regards to *pet foods* of all kinds; there IS no regulation; each and everyone who chooses to feed a pre-packaged product is at the mercy of the company they've chosen.

One major reason I refuse to spend money on anything pre-packaged for my guys - one with food sensitivity & one without problems of any kind. Just don't care to spend money on something that I truly don't know what it is, or the quality of it.

It is mind boggling that Ol Roy soft moist food has fewer bacteria dangerous to people in it than canned prescription diets! I am also appalled that the vet diets have been found to have overly high levels of calcium and phosphorus. My guess: bone is cheaper than meat and was substituted for some meat on those high grain diets. So wrong.
