    Cleaning dog puke from furniture

I'm hoping someone has some ideas to throw at me. Because I'm ready to throw one of my nice and fairly new recliners out the door.

About a a month ago dexter threw up in the middle of the night on one of our chairs and then proceeded to eat it. When we woke up the chair was all wet and at first thought he'd peed. But upon closer inspection (and smell) there was bits of dog food he'd missed in the cracks. The wet was, I'm assuming from him eating it. Yum....

so we shampooed it with upholstery cleaner and a shop vac. Thought we got it. Fast forward a month. It smells horrible and I have no idea where to start.

Is it a mildewy smell from being wet or is it the puke smell? Not sure what you could do about the mildewy smell, but you might try an enyzmatic treatment such as Nature's Miracle if it's a puke smell. Also be sure you check deep in the cracks and crevices to make sure it's not that some got left in there festering.

Definitely some Nature's Miracle. If you can get your hands on a syringe, you can also inject small amounts under the fabric cover and let dry.

I was going to also suggest lots of vinegar. It will smell like that for a day or so, but should kill the puke odor.

This stuff took a red berry juice stain out of my carpet and we use it when Cooper has accidents in the house. I swear by it.
