I saw these in a local pet store. They look like they would be great on icy surfaces up north, as well as other situations. They are like those knit work gloves that have a rubbery coating for gardening or working with chemicals.

Bacon kicks those off He seems to be fine without them. However, Bacon doesnt like anything on his feet! We bought some, thinking the same thing you did...they would be great if he kept them on!

Actually they are not that great on icy surfaces, Cookie kept slipping. I use them only when he injures his paw-pads (which obviously happens often, LOL), usually only one at a time. However these look like they easily fall off.
