1 year old wont sit *help*

I have a one year old black Lab. He knows how to sit, he was taught at a young age. Today when i was going to take him for a walk he usually sits when i grab his collar. But today he tried sitting but it seemed like something was hurting him. I told him to sit again and he tried but he stood back up and laid down. Anyone know what could be the problem?

I was thinking either anal glands or "cold tail"?

Does your dog swim a lot in very cold waters? Many times a Lab's tail can get painfully sore from over swimming in cold water..but you will notice your dog holding his tail in a more downward position.

This happened to my Toby once...it tool about 2 weeks before his tail was back to normal.

Cold Tail, Dead Tail, Limber Tail

It also could be impacted anal glands....does he scoot on his butt a lot?

I would definitely take him to your Vet for a check up.

Cold tail is my bet. has he been swimming in cold water or excessively (also known as swimmers tail). A buffered aspirin a day for a few days can have it healed in 2 to 3 days. A dog with cold/swimmers tail will often cry when they try to sit or wag their tail.
